Enjoy hours of fun at any one of the Charles County public playgrounds. We offer play areas located at many of the public park facilities. The play equipment is contemporary, encourages innovative play, and meets all industry standards for safety compliance. Facilities are designed to accommodate all levels of abilities, including special needs.

Located on Bensville Road (Route 229) between the Pomfret and Waldorf communities.
Developed facilities currently include athletic playing fields, a playground and a small pavilion. Sports fields include: one regulation-size baseball, three little league baseball, three soccer and one football field. A separate field has been designated as an area for general community use (all other fields require permit).
Evenings and Weekends – Organized parties/events are not allowed in playground pavilion area. (Reserved areas for these types of activities are available at Gilbert Run Park.)
Cobb Island Playground

This small community playground offers play opportunities for all ages. A unique multi-level design, Cobb Island offers slides, swings and climbers. Built under a canopy of pine trees, this site provides ample shade throughout the year. Visiting on foot or bike encouraged, but limited parking is available (six spaces).
Hiking and nature trails, picnic areas, pavilions and playground areas. 60-acre fresh water lake with fishing piers and boat ramp. Nature Center with a 150-gallon aquarium. Fishing supplies, licenses, boat rentals and concessions are available. 301-932-1083.
Laurel Springs is home to the County’s largest and most popular playground. Designed for inclusive play, this facility allows children of all ability levels to interact and play together. Multiple climbers, slides, ladders and swings provides hours of fun for the family. Picnic facilities, water and restrooms are available.
Athletic fields for official league use by permit only. Little league and regulation baseball fields (a field is available for community pick-up play). Equestrian trails and show rings available first come, first served, unless there are scheduled events. Playground and picnic pavilion available.
Pisgah Park playground serves the western region of the County and is situated in the center of this 234 acre park. Two play areas focus on creative play for ages 2-5 and 5-12. Pisgah also features a nature-inspired play-trail that combines play and nature interpretation. Children can explore themed play pockets spaced along our .75 mile paved trail. Restrooms, benches and water fountains are available.

Set against the gorgeous backdrop of Neale Sound and the Potomac River, this small playground provides activities for the entire family. The shaded play equipment is complemented by picnic facilities, fishing pier, tennis courts and adjacent ball fields. Facilities are just a short hike from the park's main parking area.
Ten little league and big league baseball fields, one football practice area, playground and picnic pavilion. Athletic fields available for official league use by permit only. (This playground is only open during scheduled athletic programming.)
Located in the center of Ruth B Swann Park, this small playground offers the community a pleasant play experience in a quiet, but not secluded setting. Spring animals, slides and swings are featured. With open play areas, a hiking trail, picnic facilities and the Potomac Branch Library on-site, plenty of opportunities are available for the entire family.
Located adjacent to the park's athletic complex, the White Plains Playground presents plenty of options for exciting play activities. This wooded park has multiple swings, climbers and slides that promise hours of fun. Site also includes benches, restrooms, water fountains and ample parking.
