Rec Xpress Fall Festival

Enjoy a fun-filed day full of FREE festive activities! Our Rec Xpress Fall Festival will feature community vendors, face painting, various games, and activities, DJ, food trucks, costume contest, safe trick or treating, a Halloween costume giveaway and more.

- Each vendor will get a 10x10 space in a grass area at Bensville Park.
- Each vendor is expected to provide their own tent, tables, and chairs.
- All vendors are expected to provide candy or other giveaways as kids will be trick or treating at each table. This will help to ensure all participants visit each vendor.
- Community partners and government agencies providing information and giveaways only should contact Aajah Showell directly at showella@charlescountymd.gov.
Halloween Costume Donations
Help us make this Halloween unforgettable for all our families and children. We kindly request your donations of new or gently used Halloween costumes. By participating, you'll be supporting a family or child in our community and helping to ensure everyone enjoys a fantastic Halloween! All sizes are needed and welcome. Our donation drive begins on Monday, September 23 at the below locations, and will end on Friday, October 25. Costumes will be distributed at the Rec Xpress Fall Festival on Sunday, October 27.
Donation Locations: Waldorf Senior & Recreational Center, Somers Community Center, Wade Community Center, Billingsley Community Center, Davis Community Center, Henson Community Center, Elite Gymnastics & Recreation Center, Stoddert Community Center, All Charles County Senior Centers, Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center, North Point Indoor Pool, and Scary Strokes.
Donation Guidelines
- No violent toys, games (such as toy guns) or knives.
- All donated items must be new or gently used. Costumes must be clean and intact, no costumes with rips or stains will be accepted.
- Donations must be received by Friday, October 24.
